During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were hurt while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and encountered problems to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a minor was killed in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has intensified assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

He said that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to repair systems.

Multiple people wounded in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from local officials.

Regional authorities said the urban area came under heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were hurt.

The assaults come after periods of bombing campaigns in the region, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The whole nation is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the national power system, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were preparing for additional strikes.
